Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Louisville .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Louisville Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

I really enjoyed the class. Maree does really well mixing experience levels, and the models were *chefs kiss. I will def be doing more with them. The hands on training was well worth the fee.

The meet up was enjoyable and the models were very pleasant and easy to work with. I learned quite a bit by analyzing my mistakes and this will help me in the future. Thanks for what you do!

It was my first event so I was not sure what to expect. I loved the intimacy of the small group and Maree did an excellent job leading the session. She was very well prepared and created a supportive environment for learning and sharing. It exceeded expectations!

Clouds can be super interesting especially when you have some good fluffy ones as a storm is rolling through. Took this one after a storm and during sunset in which I could be some good contrast and interesting cloud shapes.

While photographing peach blossoms on our property, this Red Admiral butterfly stopped by for a visit. Needless to say, I was surprised to see a butterfly so early in the year. I do hope this is a sign that the butterfly numbers will be up this year. March 16, 2024Fuji X-T3, XF 18-135 zoom lens.

Street Photography meet up in NuLu and saw these chairs along the way and thought they would look good in black and white. Very pleased with the outcome, I feel like this photo looks like an old photo from Paris or somewhere.

The picture was taken around 8am, the morning Golden hour is my favorite time by far, especially when there's a little fog or in this case a morning dew. With dew drops clinging to the leaves the bokeh takes on an interesting look of small glowing orbs in the fore and back ground. My camera is a Canon EOS RP, the lens was a 50 mm, shutter speed 125, aperture 1.8, and ISO was 100.

This is Craig, a Big Tusker?a term used to describe elephants with exceptionally long tusks. Craig is believed to be the oldest living Big Tusker in Kenya, boasting the longest tusks in the country. At approximately 52 years old, he is a true giant of Amboseli National Park.I was with a group of photographers exploring Amboseli National Park in Kenya when our driver and guide informed us that Craig and his fellow Tusker, Mike, had ventured outside the park and were now in a nearby game prese

I wanted to shoot the lunar eclipse but at the same time incorporate some quintessential Fort Worth icons into the image for context. I knew I would need to use a very long telephoto to get a large moon but in doing so knew that the rest of the image would need to be some distance from me due to the tunnel vision of the telephoto. I used Photopills and The Photographer?s Ephemeris to plan the shot which was taken with Fuji X system mirrorless equipment.

Using light and shade to capture the beauty in the harshness of urban industrial architecture. Rekindling a love of black and white photography, I took this photograph whilst on a Brighton Photography Group 'Urban Architecture in Black & White Photography' study event led by Tobias Slater-Hunt. Having spent a winter of dark clouds, rain and dull skies, it was an opportunity to make the most of the year's new beautiful March sunshine.
